The Greater Sacramento region has formally launched The Sacramento Pitch, a campaign to secure a Major League Baseball expansion franchise backed by a fully entitled stadium site, substantial public-private investment, and access to the nation’s largest underserved major league sports market. The initiative positions Sacramento as a leading West Coast expansion candidate with site control, development readiness, and financial momentum already in place.

Staff at the PDDG UK Office have been melting into the pavement the past few days as the UK experienced record-breaking temperatures across the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. The UK has set a new record for the hottest May day for the second consecutive day, with temperatures in parts of London climbing above 35C/95F on Tuesday. Before these latest record-breaking highs, May's previous warmest day in the UK was 32.8C/91F in 1922 and 1944.

Driven by sustained passenger growth, Ontario International Airport is moving forward with a major expansion program that includes the modernization of Terminals 2 and 4 and the construction of a new three-story, 650,000-square-foot Terminal 3 between the existing facilities. American Airlines has introduced a new direct route between its Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) hub and Athens (ATH), Greece, as part of the airline's "centennial summer," expected to bring record-breaking travel moving 75 million customers across 750,000 flights. American Airlines is scheduled to operate 60 flights between Dallas-Fort Worth and Greece during the month of June, offering more than 18,000 seats. With one of PDDG's regional offices located in Texas, this new DFW-ATH route adds greater access for the PDDG Team to serve our Greek and European clients.

Two high school students from a small town outside Thessaloniki captured first place at Europe’s largest financial literacy competition, outperforming teams from 30 countries during the European Money Quiz finals held in Brussels earlier this week. The Greek students secured the win with a perfect score, correctly answering all 30 financial literacy questions in the shortest amount of time. Latvia finished in second place, followed by Italy in third. Congratulations!

National Geographic has named Crete the "World’s Top Gastronomy Destination" for 2026, noting the island’s long-standing connection to the Mediterranean Diet and its highly desirable food traditions. Crete was recognized for its recent designation as the European Region of Gastronomy, noting the island’s influential role in shaping the Mediterranean Diet. The publication also celebrated Crete’s rich culinary heritage, where food is deeply connected to local traditions, warm hospitality, and overall wellbeing.

A landmark moment for Sardinian aviation and transatlantic travel took place on May 20, 2026 with the arrival of Delta Air Lines’ inaugural flight from New York’s JFK Airport, marking the island’s first-ever direct scheduled connection with the United States. The new route will operate four times weekly through October, representing a major advancement in Sardinia’s international connectivity and expanding access to key global markets. The service is expected to attract strong demand from North American travelers while supporting the region’s broader tourism and economic development goals.

The City of Mesa Office of Economic Development (Mesa OED) has launched a recently refreshed SelectMesa.com, featuring a new look, updated information, improved navigation, and expanded resources for companies, developers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses looking to grow in Mesa. The entire web design and development team at PDDG worked closely with Mesa's OED team to carefully develop and launch this refreshed website, which is possibly one of the largest and most robust city economic development websites in Arizona, if not the US.

The City of Surprise, Arizona, has unveiled its 2026 Community Profile. Designed and produced by the creative team at PDDG in close partnership with the wonderful Surprise Economic Development team, this publication showcases Surprise's many locational assets, highlights of each major development area, and includes key demographic data. The development of the 2026 Community Profile is our first project for the City of Surprise. We look forward to supporting their future economic development marketing needs.

In 2026, we are celebrating eight years since our first project with the City of Suffolk, Virginia. Over nearly a decade of partnership, we have supported the city’s marketing and outreach for economic development, tourism, public safety, utilities, and general media and communications. Recently, we completed a comprehensive refresh of the Good Time Guide, an oversized foldout brochure highlighting Suffolk’s many tourist attractions and amenities.
